When I was in high school and even college, esports did not really exist on a widespread basis. Where it was present, it seemed like it was only for people such as professional gamers from places nowhere near where my friends and I lived. People I grew up with did not have opportunities for growth in gaming nor a pathway to take this hobby that we all loved and make something out of it to better ourselves and our lives.
